What Are Your Online Rights? “Blog Law” Helps You Understand Them

Monday’s post listed a bunch of awesome resources that I highly recommend. That said, yesterday I came across another one that I thought so profound and important in her messaging that it warrants its own post of “you have to read this woman’s blog!!”

Her name is Sara Hawkins and she is a lawyer who writes a regular blog titled “Saving for Someday”. Within this blog she has a special series called “Blog Law”. Blog Law is what I want to introduce you to.

As you know, I’ve been posting a lot recently (and will continue to post more in the near future) on the topics of Internet defamation and online reputation management. These are both extremely important issues that I want all of my readers to know how to protect themselves from and manage their way through, when faced with these types of online crises. Sara recently wrote an amazing article titled “12 Most Useful Things to Know About Social Media and Defamation” (a must-read by the way) which lead me to discover her Blog Law series.

Sara’s goal within Blog Law is to “provide information for bloggers, online professionals and entrepreneurs so they can continue to grow their business despite the quagmire that is often called ‘the law’.” Within this series Sara discusses our online rights, online bullying, Internet defamation and more. Of her most recent posts, I’ve chosen three to link to here that I found extremely resourceful – and I know many of you will too:

So there you have it! Another important blog and online issues management resource to add to your reader – from an attorney no less!

I hope you enjoy Sara’s Blog Law series as much as I have been!
